Blog 10: English language challenges

Hello everyone! This is my last publication of the year, for my luck the English course is finished and I think I learned a lot. Actually I don't consider myself good for languages, I'm ashamed to speak, I think I don't do it well and I'm afraid they will make fun of me. However, I think I've come a long way in that. I liked the English 4 course because I met very funny people and that made the classes less terrible for me. The activities that the professor did were entertaining, we saw very good movies and the blog helped us to practice writing. The videos surprised me, I really thought they would be difficult to do, but it was not like that and that calms me a lot. The support to learn English is based and in that sense the teacher always showed willingness to help and was always very understanding of the difficulties I had when speaking. I liked a lot. I hope that what I learned in this course I will not forget hehehe and serve me in ...

Blog 9: Changes to my study programme

Imagen
Hi everyone! Today I will tell you about the changes to my study programme, the programme of journalism. I really like the career of journalism, however, there are things that I would change, for example, the teaching methods and the infraestructure of ICEI (classrooms). The teaching methods that I don't like the evaluations because they are like in the high school, the test are with alternatives, completion, paired terms and other things that are from memory. I don't like the memorize the contents because I like understand and develop the contents. In relation to the infraestructure of ICEI, I don't like the size of the classrooms because are very small and we are many students. The hot days (like today) are unbearable. The air conditioning never works and that is terrible! Finally, I don't like that every year increase the enrollment of the career, more and more people enter journalism and that generates that many students desert the career during ...

But I would like work in El Diario Austral, that is the Osorno newspaper, because I like very much my city and all the activities, news and polemics of the city and of the people of the south hehehe (I like the polemics). I would like to work in Osorno because I know the area, the people, their interest and needs. I hope to work during December, Januar...

Blog 7: My favourite food

Imagen
Hi friends! This time I am tell you about my favourite food in the world: The Gnocchi. The Gnocchi is a type of italian pasta. Then I leave the preparation: The ingredients to prepare this pasta are: potatoes, flour, eggs, oil and salt. 1. In a large pot put cold water and potatoes, add salt.  Cook until the potatoes are cooked. 2. Grind the potatoes until mashed. Then add two eggs and one cup of flour. 3. Mix using hands or a wooden spoon until to form a dough. 4. Divide into portions and form "ropes", which must then be cut into small squares. Sprinkle with flour. 5. Heat water anda add oil. Let cook in the boiling water until they surface and float 6. Remove the gnocchi and serve them in a plate with bolognesa sauce or pesto. (I like thebolognesa sauce, it is my favourite!) The preparation is easy, but the problem is that it require a lot of time. But worth it. The gnochhi is my favourite food since I was little. I remember my grandmother p...

Blog 4: Jimmy's Hall Review

Imagen
Hello everyone! This time I will tell you that I saw a movie, not the best, nor the worst, but I recommend them because it is similar to the one I saw before. If you saw The Wind that Shakes the Barley then you should see Jimmy's Hall. It is a story based on real events and that makes it value much more each scene of the film. I think one of my favorite scenes was when Jimmy (who - by the way - is my favorite character) performed something like a harangue that inspired everyone who listened to him. Personally I love speeches, I love the emotional power they have. In addition it is not something easy to do, not any person has the power to motivate others. What I did not like about the film is that sometimes it was too slow and that English was used other than American, so at times it was difficult to understand what they said. I must confess that I had to see her twice. I hope you see this movie and tell me your impressions. Regards!
